BionX Conversions now at Piccadilly

Blaine Pickett

Piccadilly Cycles is proud to announce that we are an authorized BionX dealer and can custom install any system in the BionX line. Visit the shop for a consultation to determine the system that will work best for you and your bike.

BionX e-bike systems attach easily to almost every size and style of bicycle, since you can choose between rack-mounted and down tube mounted battery packs, and because Bionx produces a range of battery shapes and sizes to fit many frames. For some, only a conversion will do, whether it is because they already have a bike they are comfortable with, or because it can be more cost-effective to convert an expensive or unusual bike like a cargo bike or fat bike.

One advantage to consider is that all BionX systems come with Regenerative Braking, so when you squeeze your bike’s brake lever, energy is sent back to the Li-Ion batteries, helping them recharge. And if you are traveling down a steep hill and want some extra braking, or want a greater workout as you pedal, switch the BionX system into one of the four Generate Mode levels. You’ll feel resistance, and even more energy is returned to the battery pack.

Cargo bikes like the Yuba pictured above are particularly strong candidates for a BionX conversion. Children grow and load-hauling capacity needs increase, making a conversion well worth the investment.

The wisest course of action for most cyclists considering either an electric-assist bike or a conversion of their existing bike is to visit us at the shop and start a conversation about your transportation needs. Our job is to help you find the best personality match with your bicycle, whether electric-assist or not, and to do so in the most cost-effective manner. We love a good challenge!
