The Ashland Woodlands and Trails Association is having two trail work days this winter. On Saturday, Jan 31 volunteers worked to lengthen the hiking trail Bandersnatch; this Saturday, February 7th they will reroute part of the mountain bike trail BTI to reduce erosion, which will actually lengthen the trail a little bit.
Last weekend the work involved creating an extension to the popular Bandersnatch trail. Now, the trail crosses Alice and descends gently down to the intersection of the Ashland Loop Rd and the Fire Ecology Trail.
The next work party will meet at 9am, Saturday, February 7th until 3 or possibly earlier. Lunch will be provided. NOTE: Feel free to come even if you can’t commit for more than an hour or two, but if you arrive after 9, please find a “trail boss” and check in.
Come on out to help if you feel inspired to get involved with trail building and maintenance!
