Now that the leaves have fallen off the trees and the temperature is cooling it is time to think about your e-bike battery storage over the winter. Think about your personal storage situation. If your bike will experience temperatures below 45 degrees during the winter it would be best to bring the battery inside your house to store/charge at room temperature. This will allow each charge to be full capacity (assuming you are still using the E-bike during the winter) and also prolong the overall life of the battery because it will not need to be charged as often over the winter. Rechargeable batteries loose charge faster in cold temperatures and thus need to be checked more often than those stored in a warmer environment.
If your bike is stored outdoors try to cover it with a tarp or similar item that would keep it out of the rain. It would also be good to cover the contacts in this situation if you are removing battery for storage.
With a little planning this time of year your E-bike should be ready for you in the spring when you are wanting to get outside and enjoy the warmer weather.
